EXPLORER'S AWARD
WHAT IS IT?
The award is a belt buckle that can be worn in place of the standard belt buckle on the uniform belt
HOW CAN I EARN IT?
All you need to do, is participate in a recognised international activity and complete two of the following:
a minimum of four hours service
a minimum of one night's camping
a minimum of one days training
or attend at least three meetings (minimum of three hours) to successfully qualify for the award. When you return to Australia, you need to complete at least three presentations to either scouting or other community groups. this could be in the form of written articles with photographs or talks and speeches made in front of your section, district, region or branch.
When you have completed all the requirements listed above, then obtain an application to receive the award from your Branch Headquarters. Fill in the application and send it off so that the Branch International Commissioner may sign all of the paperwork and you can be presented with your award.
BACKGROUND:
Scouting is a worldwide organisation with over 26 million members comprising young people, adults (both male and female) in 217 countries and territories. This award recognises those who participate in Jamborees, Ventures, Moots, Conferences, Service Projects, Agoonarees and Camporees overseas.
